Preposition of Time. Lets Study!

        The following three English prepositions are used with time in: in, at, and on. The "largest" time or place is typically shown in, along with the dates and times of the shows, and the "smallest" time or place is typically shown at. Today, we are going to learn about prepositions of time.

At  (At use at with times)
→ night
→ clock
→ holidays


– at night
– at 7 o’clock
– at 6.35 p.m.
– at Christmas
– at the weekend

                (Example)

-       I sleep at night

-       I go to school at 8 o’clock

-       We are going to stay at hotel

 

On  (On use on with dates and days)
→ days of the week
→ dates
→ particular day


– on Mondays
– on (the) 5th (of) June
– on my birthday
– on the following day

                 (Example)

-       Kalila go to shopping on Saturday

-       Danelia’s birthday on 1st of July


In  (In use in + period of times = a time in the future)
→ parts of the day
→ months
→ seasons
→ years
→ decades
→ centuries

 

– in the morning
– in December
– in winter
– in 2015
– in the 1990’s
– in the 20th century

                (Example)

-       Biara’s sleep in the morning

-       In December, we go to hospital
